Tata Motors has announced Mr. Mayank Pareek as President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit (PVBU). Mr. Pareek will be joining the company from 1st October and he will head the passenger vehicle business. Apart from this responsibility, he will also join the Corporate Steering Committee. Mayank Pareek has been working with Maruti Suzuki since a period of two decades and he has played a very significant role in making the company reach where it is today. His last position at Maruti was Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Mr. Mayank Pareek headed the Sales and Marketing department at Maruti and that also included domestic sales, dealer development, product development, used car business (True Value), outbound logistics, spare parts and accessories, after market services and international sales and marketing. With such a huge experience in the automotive field, the appointment of Mr. Pareek is going to be hugely beneficial for Tata Motors. Mr. Ranjit Yadav, who held the said position earlier, will now be heading International Business for Passenger and Commercial Vehicles.
Tata Motors is at a stage where it is going through a lot of amendments, be it new vehicles, better service or better quality. The company has shown huge potential to become one of the top most vehicle manufacturers in India and rightly so. With the appointment of Pareek, we can only foresee things changing for the positive at Tata Motors and soon it may not be surprising to see Tata fighting it out with Maruti and Hyundai for the top spot in the Indian auto market.
