The Maruti XL5 has been spotted on test ahead of launch later this year.
Maruti is preparing to launch the XL5 hatchback, which is essentially a more premium version of the Wagon R. The XL5 will be sold via the Nexa dealership network having premium cosmetic updates on the exterior and interior.
Just like how Maruti XL6 is to Ertiga, the same treatment is being done with the Wagon R’s premium version. The styling is likely to be tweaked in terms of new front grille, bumpers, headlights, alloys, tail lights and rear bumpers.
The interior will get new colour upholstery and the features are likely to be exactly the same. The heavily camouflaged test mule has been spotted by MotorBeamer Siddharth Aggarwal.
Maruti Suzuki is expected to pull the wraps off the XL5 at the upcoming Auto Expo 2020 next month. The XL5 is likely to be offered with the same 1.2-litre BS6 compliant petrol engine with 77 BHP and 113 Nm of torque having manual and AMT gearbox options.
We can expect the carmaker to introduce the XL5 in mid-2020 ahead of the festive season. The pricing will be on the premium side.
