Maruti Suzuki launched the Wagon R Stingray last month, positioning it slightly above the standard Wagon R. Now Maruti Suzuki has launched the Madhavan Signature Edition Wagon R in order to give some limelight to the segment leading hatchback. As usual, the special edition car gets some additional features and exterior graphics but this time the Wagon R Signature edition is being endorsed by an Indian actor, R. Madhavan (also the brand ambassador for the Wagon R). On the side and rear profile of the special edition you get the signature of the famous actor.
The Maruti Wagon R Madhavan edition gets additional features such as a Kenwood double-din audio system with USB and AUX connectivity, leather wrapped seat covers and steering wheel, rear parking sensors with digital display inside and Bluetooth kit for handsfree connectivity. For additional styling you get Wagon R embossed door sill guards, roof spoiler, full wheel covers and body graphics for the signature edition. The carmaker claims that the additional accessories are worth Rs. 32,000/-, which the company is providing for Rs. 20,000/- for the signature edition.
Maruti Suzuki is also offering 0.5 percent waiver on loan interest and discount vouchers up to Rs. 5100/- with a chance to win holiday packages. The Wagon R Madhavan Signature edition comes in a way to boost sales amidst slowdown and increasing competition. The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is powered by a 3-cylinder, 998cc, K-Series petrol engine that produces a maximum power of 67 BHP with a peak torque of 90 Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Maruti is also offering the Wagon R with CNG and LPG variants. It comes with a starting price of Rs. 3.57 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
