Maruti has launched the mid-life facelift of the Vitara Brezza.
Maruti Suzuki launched the Vitara Brezza facelift with a starting price of Rs. 7.34 lakhs (ex-showroom). The compact SUV made its debut at the Auto Expo 2016 while the facelift was revealed at the Auto Expo 2020. It comes with mild cosmetic changes and new features on offer and most importantly a petrol engine.
The Vitara Brezza was introduced with the Fiat sourced 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine. Now that this engine has been discontinued due to BS6 emission norms, Maruti has introduced a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre petrol engine which is borrowed from its siblings, the Ciaz and Ertiga.
Maruti Suzuki is not ready with a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre diesel engine yet but the carmaker is likely to introduce the oil burner at a later stage.
The 1.5-litre BS6 4-cylinder petrol engine produces 103 HP and 138 Nm of torque. It is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed torque converter automatic.
The 5-speed manual version returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 17.03 km/l while the automatic with mild-hybrid tech returns 18.76 km/l.
The exterior comes with a revised front grille, new headlights with integrated turn indicators and LED DRLs along with revised front bumper. The rear profile also gets a new bumper and LED tail lights.
The interior of the Maruti Vitara Brezza facelift is more or less the same. It comes with new upholstery and Smartplay Studio touchscreen infotainments system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
It is available in 3 new dual tone color options – Sizzling Red with midnight Black roof, Torque Blue with midnight Black roof and Granite Grey with Autumn Orange roof.
The Maruti Vitara Brezza competes with the likes of Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV500, etc.
