Maruti Suzuki will officially launch the Vitara Brezza in India at the 2016 Auto Expo itself and the vehicle will be priced in the range of the Ford EcoSport.
You read it first on MotorBeam. Indian automaker Maruti Suzuki will be launching the much-awaited Vitara Brezza in India in February 2016. The vehicle will be sold through Maruti’s regular dealerships and not through NEXA. The compact SUV’s bookings will commence right after launch and then the company will be shipping the cars to its dealers. Deliveries are slated to begin by April. It isn’t confirmed whether the car will be called Vitara Brezza itself or something else but what we know is that only the Brezza word is confirmed to be there.
On the looks front, the Maruti Vitara Brezza has very stylish exteriors with a sporty appeal and the vehicle will be offered in some eye catchy colours too. There will be many distinct styling elements that will give the car a very SUV-ish stance and that includes skid plates on the bumpers and some body-cladding too. The interiors will follow a theme similar to the S-Cross and the Vitara Brezza is reportedly said to be big on space too. Expect Maruti to load it with a lot of features, just like the Baleno.
Talking about mechanicals, Maruti will continue to offer the tried and tested 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel engine that powers a variety of cars from the same stable. The automaker will offer the car in the higher 90 PS tune which will be much appreciated considering the fact that the Brezza’s closest rival, the Ford EcoSport churns out 100 PS. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and there doesn’t seem to be any possibility of the car getting an AWD system or an automatic gearbox.
The Maruti Vitara Brezza will be priced bang in the range of the Ford EcoSport. It will cost between Rs. 8-12 lakhs and will give tough competition to the Mahindra TUV300 too. Knowing how Maruti cars are receiving excellent demand, the Vitara Brezza might not be different and we predict even this car to have a long waiting period just like its siblings.
