Maruti Suzuki had previously offered a “limited edition” Swift RS with features like 3-piece body kit, body graphics, blackened wheel covers, illuminated door sill, RS theme floor mats amongst a list of other features. With no sign of the Swift Sport being launched in India, a Bangalore-based dealership has taken the matter into its own hands to cater to the customers’ needs of offering a car that stands out aesthetically at least while no mechanical upgrades are done. This edition is known as the Platinum Edition.
The Swift Platinum Edition gets a chrome front grille replacing the plastic grille on the stock car given the fact that Indians adore chrome on their vehicles. The car also sports a front lip spoiler and a rear lip spoiler apart from the side skirts. A rear roof spoiler is also included to make up for the body kit on this Platinum Edition. The roof gets black stickering and this extends to the side view mirrors as well. The front headlamps get projector lights along with LED treatment while the tail lamps also come with LEDs. The cost for the headlamps and tail lamps alone comes up to Rs. 70,000/- says the dealer.
The Maruti Swift Platinum Edition also gets body graphics on the side with the “Swift” logo. Alloy wheels on offer are grey in colour and can be changed depending on the customer’s taste. The interior modification on this car includes premium leather seats. The music system with four speakers, two tweeters and an amplifier can be chosen by the customer with brands such as JBL, Sony and Alpine on offer. The dealership is very flexible to cater to the customer’s choices and the total cost of the package comes up to Rs. 1,40,000/- on top of which a consumer discount of Rs. 15,000/- is being offered on the car. This is an innovative move taken by the dealership to keep the sales going and offer variety to its customers who opt for aesthetic upgrades.
