The third generation Maruti Swift will be launched at the 2018 Auto Expo followed by the Hybrid launch later.
Indian four-wheeler buyers crave for reliability and cost-effectiveness along with performance and looks. The very manufacturer which has proved to fit this bill of the Indian car buyers is Maruti. It has managed to create a strong foothold in this highly competitive market with its fantastic offerings and, among these, one of the most prominent is the Swift. While it is due to be launched in its third generation avatar in India, we received a pleasant news that it will get two extra version – Hybrid and Sport along with the conventional models.
The new Maruti Swift will be introduced at the 2018 Auto Expo and it is one of the most anticipated products to be launched. The previous two generations of the Swift sold like hot cakes in India and the same response can be expected from the upcoming family of the car. And, the two new variants joining them will only add to its popularity quotient.
Talking about the Sport variant, reports reveal that it will be powered by the peppy 1.4-litre BoosterJet petrol motor capable of producing 138 BHP of power and 230 Nm of hefty torque while being mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. It weighs 80 kgs lesser to the current car which will boost its enthusiastic driving capabilities. The upcoming Maruti Swift is 50 mm longer in terms of wheelbase which makes it slightly bigger as compared to the current model.
The 2018 Maruti Swift is way more responsive and performance oriented as compared to the previous version. As for the Maruti Swift Hybrid variant, not many details have surfaced about it yet. Apart from the new Swift family, Maruti will also drop down the Vitara SUV in India which may come here soon, perhaps in a year. It will be a competitor to Hyundai’s extremely successful Creta and FCA’s talk of the town, the Jeep Compass.
