Festive season is a rush hour for all the auto-makers. New models and facelifts throng the markets. Offers and discounts are given to pull the customers. Well, Maruti Suzuki too has taken this opportunity to launch the facelifted petrol Ritz. The newer version gets all the features of the diesel Ritz now, which was given a facelift last month. However, it will be on a pricier side this time. The company is offering the facelifted version at Rs. 5.15 lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai). Ritz hatchback will be available in three petrol variants – LXi, VXi and ZXi.
The new version carries reworked bumpers, grille and headlamps. An integrated spoiler has been added to the rear giving it a sportier look. The car will be available in a new shade called ‘Mystique Red’. Thus, nothing much has been done to the exteriors. Interiors too have got only minor tweaks. The facelifted version now flaunts dual-tone interiors, however, this is limited to a red dual-tone interior on the VXi and ZXi variants only. The rear seats give better support now. The ZXi variant is equpped with steering mounted audio controls, electronically operated mirrors and alloy wheels.
As the earlier version, the facelifted Maruti Suzuki Ritz too is powered by a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder K-Series petrol engine. This powerplant produces a peak power of 83.8 BHP and a peak torque of 113 Nm. The engine is mated to 5-speed manual gearbox. The automatic version of the same is expected to hit the Indian roads in the next few months as plans are in place. Currently, the automatic model is loaded with a 4-speed automatic gearbox and it is sold in the European market as Suzuki Splash. The model is exported from India.
