The Maruti Ertiga will get a minor facelift offering improved mileage and redesigned alloy wheels with the launch scheduled around March 2015.
Facing heat from the newly launched Honda Mobilio, Maruti Suzuki is planning a minor facelift on the Ertiga MPV that will receive subtle tweaks improving the aesthetics, while the fuel efficiency will be also witness a marginal rise over the outgoing model. The exterior changes are said to be minimal and the 2015 Ertiga facelift will get redesigned alloy wheels, while we do expect mild updates to the front fascia. We also expect to see certain features added to the facelifted Ertiga from the new Swift, which will make it an attractive proposition.
While details are still scarce, expect no changes to the powertrain and the 2015 Maruti Ertiga will continue with the same 1.4-litre K-Series petrol unit producing 95 PS and 130 Nm of torque, while the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine will continue to generate 90 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque. Both the engines are paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The engines however are most likely to get subtle changes to gear ratios that will aid in the improved fuel efficiency. Maruti also offers the Ertiga with a CNG equipped version and is expected to get no changes as such.
Launched as a more affordable competitor to the Toyota Innova, the Ertiga managed to carve its own niche in the segment and has been consistently doing well over 5000 units every month. The sales come in despite the launch of the Honda Mobilio in the segment that too is attracting similar volumes every month. More details on the facelifted model will be revealed as we get closer to the launch. With the launch expected around March 2015, prices could see a marginal rise over the outgoing version.
