Maruti Super Carry Turbo LCV Spotted At Dealership

The Maruti Super Carry Turbo LCV is ready to be launched in the market and is going to be the automaker’s first proper commercial vehicle in India.

The Super Carry Turbo is being developed for the Indian market since 2013

Suzuki has been selling the Carry LCV in overseas markets for decades now. In fact the Maruti Omni is also based on the 7th generation of the Carry. Maruti has been working on the Indian version of the Carry since 2013 and the LCV is now ready for launch. The Maruti Super Carry Turbo LCV has been spotted at a dealership’s stockyard indicating that its launch could happen any time.

Maruti will initially launch the Super Carry only in Gujarat and Haryana and later on it will be introduced in other states too in a phased manner. Powering the Super Carry Turbo will be the same engine that also fires up the Celerio diesel. It is an 800cc, 2-cylinder, turbocharged oil-burner which is known for its peppy nature.

The Super Carry will also be offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine which will be a detuned Eeco engine and it will run on CNG. The petrol engine will be offered with a 4-speed manual transmission. The Super Carry will feature a front engine layout while power will be sent to the rear wheels. It will have a body-on-frame chassis.

Maruti officials had stated that the Super Carry will be launched in this fiscal itself. The product is highly anticipated because it will be priced aggressively and it is likely to be a good choice in its segment. The Maruti Super Carry will be competing with the Tata Ace and Mahindra Maxximo.
