Maruti SX4 Celebration Edition Diesel Is Completely Pointless

In continuing with its limited edition model philosophy, Maruti Suzuki has launched yet another celebration edition of the SX4. The company has called this particular limited model as the ‘Celebration Ediition Diesel’, which as the name suggests is powered by a 1.3-litre, DDiS diesel engine which produces 89 BHP of power and 200 Nm of torque. This is the same Multijet engine from Fiat which is equipped with VGT to boost power output. However Maruti Suzuki marketing department chooses to call it Super Turbo.

The Maruti Suzuki SX4 Celebration Edition has six add-ons, which set it apart from the regular model. The vehicle is priced at Rs. 8.79 lakhs for the ZDi variant (ex-showroom, Mumbai). It is also available in petrol variant. The celebration edition is based on the ZXi and ZDi variants. The limited edition model is available till 30th September, 2012 but that is just Maruti’s way of trying to push buyers to purchase the car quickly. The petrol celebration edition has performed very poorly.

Maruti Suzuki SX4 Celebration Edition Features –

The additional features are nothing short of shocking, as they add absolutely no value to the car. These things can be easily done at any after market shop, so we are scratching our head to find out what indeed is there to celebrate about. The regular SX4 is available for Rs. 6.82 lakhs, Rs. 7.44 lakhs and Rs. 7.81 lakhs for the base petrol, CNG and diesel variant respectively.
