Maruti Jimny to get the K15B petrol engine in India
Maruti Jimny 5-door is all set to make its India debut at the upcoming Auto Expo and the engine details are out ahead of its launch.
Maruti Suzuki recently updated its entire lineup of cars with the new K15C Dualjet petrol engine except for the Ciaz. However, the upcoming Jimny will be getting the older K15B powertrain.
It is the same engine that is currently being offered with the 3-door Jimny for the international markets. The 1.5-litre K15B naturally aspirated petrol motor produces 102 HP and 130 Nm of torque in the 3-door Jimny. It is likely to come with the same power and torque output in the 5-door version to be offered in India.
However, the 5-door Jimny will get the mild-hybrid tech to offer more fuel efficiency. It will come with both 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission options.
Both the gearbox options will come with Suzuki AllGrip Pro AWD system. It will come with 4 High and 4 Low modes.
