Maruti Jimny 5-door production version spotted unloading from a truck recently in New Delhi. The disguised car you see here is not wearing a camouflage. It is covered to hide the production-ready exterior of the vehicle.
The carmaker seems to be preparing to reveal the Jimny 5-door for the Indian market soon. We all know that it’ll make its debut at the upcoming 2023 Auto Expo in January. However, they need to shoot the TVC of the vehicle ahead of its debut. We believe this particular model is being transported around for the ad shoot.
While the 5-door version will be longer than the current 3-door model on sale globally, it still looks under 4-metre long.
We can expect Maruti Suzuki to differentiate the styling of the bigger Jimny with slightly different grille, lights and bumper design elements.
The SUV is expected to be powered by the same 1.5-litre K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine. It will also be offered with AllGrip Pro 4-wheel drive system.
We believe Maruti will open the bookings in early 2023 and the deliveries are likely to commence by mid-2023.
