Maruti to launch its own version of the Innova HyCross
Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch the rebadged version of the recently launched Toyota Innova HyCross. They are expected to introduce their version of the MPV by August 2023.
In terms of design, it will be exactly the same as the HyCross just like the changes between Baleno-Glanza. The badge engineered HyCross might come with a new grille design and revised bumpers and of course Maruti Suzuki badging.
Maruti will give it a new name to differentiate the two products. It will be manufactured at Toyota’s facility in Karnataka. Expect the pricing to be similar in the range of Rs. 20-30 lakhs (ex-showroom). Toyota will reveal the pricing of the HyCross next month.
Features and equipment on offer will be the same including the ADAS tech. It will be the first Maruti to get this safety feature and the second Hybrid engine powered vehicle in their lineup.
However, it will be interesting to see the sales and public perception of a premium MPV in the carmaker’s lineup. Why would you buy a Maruti badged Innova? What will be the USP of this rebadged MPV? Only time will tell.
