Maruti has updated the Ignis Zeta trim which now features a touchscreen infotainment system, replacing the 2-DIN audio player that was offered earlier.
Previously, the SmartPlay Studio system was present only on the top-spec Alpha trim of the hatchback.
Features that come with the infotainment system include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear parking sensor guidelines and reverse camera display, if fitted with a rear camera.
Also, Maruti Ignis Zeta features electrically folding ORVMs, steering-mounted audio controls, voice control system, alloy wheels, and the likes. However, LED headlights and automatic climate control are reserved for the fully-loaded Alpha trim.
With the addition of the touchscreen, Maruti has hiked the price of the hatchback by Rs. 9000/-. Thus, the Maruti Ignis Zeta MT costs Rs. 5.98 lakhs, while the Ignis Zeta AGS costs Rs. 6.45 lakhs, both prices ex-showroom.
Earlier this year, Maruti gave the Ignis a facelift that saw the hatchback gain an engine upgrade, cosmetic additions. Maruti continues to offer the Ignis with two customisation packages named the Scorcher and Acropolis.
The car comes with a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine that produces 83 PS of peak power, 113 Nm of torque and was put on sale in February from Rs. 4.89 lakhs (ex-showroom).
