Maruti Grand Vitara now available with CNG in two variants
Maruti has introduced the Grand Vitara S-CNG with a price tag of Rs. 12.85 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom) for the Delta variant and Rs. 14.84 lakhs for the Zeta variant.
It is only available in two variants. Powered by a 1.5-litre engine that produces 87.83 PS at 5500 RPM and 121.5 Nm at 4200 RPM in CNG mode. The motor produces 100.61 PS at 6000 RPM and 136 Nm at 4400 RPM in petrol mode.
The Grand Vitara CNG returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 26.6 km/kg. Both the variants are only available with a 5-speed manual transmission. There is no automatic transmission on offer. To make it clear, the CNG variants are offered with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and not the strong hybrid powertrain.
With the introduction of CNG in Grand Vitara, the compact SUV is now available in three powertrain choices – petrol, hybrid and CNG.
After discontinuing diesel engines in 2020, Maruti Suzuki is focusing big time on CNG. Now with the launch of Grand Vitara S-CNG, they have a total of 14 cars in the portfolio with CNG option.
