Suzuki EVX

Maruti eVX production version will be showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to introduce its very first electric SUV, the eVX. This much-anticipated debut will take place at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi, scheduled from January 17-22, 2025. Although the eVX was initially slated for a global reveal this year, a few setbacks have pushed the timeline to early next year.

India at the Heart of Production, Global Markets in Focus

The eVX will be exclusively manufactured in India, positioning the country as the central hub for this electric vehicle’s production. Maruti Suzuki has ambitious plans for the eVX, prioritising its launch in key international markets like Europe and Japan before it hits Indian roads later in 2025.

With production set to kick off early next year, the company aims to roll out 1.5 lakh units annually, most of which will be destined for export. This strategy highlights Maruti Suzuki’s determination to make a mark in the global EV market.

A Joint Venture with Toyota

The eVX isn’t just a solo effort—it’s being developed in partnership with Toyota. After Maruti Suzuki launches the eVX, a Toyota-badged version is expected to follow a few months later.

Taking on the Competition

When the eVX finally hits the market, it will be up against some strong contenders. Models like the Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta EV, BYD Atto 3 and Mahindra’s upcoming electric vehicles are all vying for attention in the growing EV segment. The eVX will need to stand out in this crowded field but with Maruti Suzuki’s reputation and strategic planning, it’s set to make a significant impact.
