Maruti Suzuki will launch an enhanced version of the Ertiga under the Nexa umbrella.
Maruti recently launched the second generation Ertiga in the Indian market and now the company is readying an enhanced version of the MPV to be launched under the Nexa. The Maruti Ertiga Nexa version will feature quite a lot of changes.
The Nexa version of the Maruti Ertiga will come with the same engine options as the regular Ertiga. The petrol engine is a 1.5-litre unit available with either a 5-speed MT or a 4-speed AT while the current 1.3-litre diesel engine will soon be replaced by a new 1.5-litre unit developed in-house by Maruti.
To differentiate the new offering from the Ertiga, it is most likely to get a different name. The car will feature various cosmetic changes to make it look sportier and will feature captain seats in the middle to accommodate a total of 6 passengers. The Ertiga-based Nexa MPV is expected to be one of the most feature-loaded three-row models, with features like LED headlamps, DRLs, new alloy wheels, leather upholstery and cruise control.
The Nexa version of the Maruti Ertiga will be launched later this year and will carry a slightly premium in pricing too. However, as a better package with sharper looks and more features, it’ll provide tough competition to the Mahindra Marazzo.
