The 2015 Maruti DZire facelift gets a mildly revised front fascia with chrome inserts, while the interiors get new features carried over from the updated Swift.
Speculated to be launched last year, the overwhelming sales of the outgoing DZire allowed Maruti Suzuki to stretch the model longer than presumed. With no changes as such since its launch in 2012, the DZire compact sedan has finally gone through a mild facelift and was spotted testing for the first time with minimal camouflage. Spied earlier as well on several occasions, the new spy shots iterate the fact that the launch is indeed very close and is expected by March this year.
Starting with the list of changes, the revisions include a new front single chrome grille that replaces the double-slat unit, while the front bumper has been revised with wider air intakes and chrome inserts on the fog lamp enclosure. The side profile gets no changes as such apart from the new 15-inch alloy wheels, which will be restricted to the higher variants alone. The rear too is expected to retain the existing layout, while slight tweaks to the bumper and boot-lid are likely.
Inside the cabin though, the 2015 Maruti DZire facelift will get a host of new features that were first launched on the updated Swift last year. The new equipment includes start-stop button, keyless entry, automatic climate control, Bluetooth connectivity with steering mounted controls as well as an updated instrument cluster with a new MID screen. In addition, the new DZire facelift will get height adjustable driver’s seat, electrically adjustable ORVMs and 60:40 split rear seats.
The safety tech will see the addition of reverse parking sensors while ABS and EBD will be available on more trims as standard. The 2015 DZire facelift will also feature the retuned engines from the Swift with the 1.2-litre petrol now producing 83 PS and and 115 Nm of torque, while the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel unit continues to produce 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque. Fuel efficiency is expected to be marginally better over the outgoing model, while prices will see a marginal hike.
