Maruti Dzire CNG bookings open unofficially
Maruti Dzire CNG launch soon as dealers start accepting bookings ahead of official announcement. India’s largest carmaker is preparing to expand their CNG presence rapidly across their lineup. Initially they are focusing on Arena products but soon the Nexa lineup too will get CNG powertrain option.
A factory fitted CNG for the Dzire is currently the need of the hour since the Tata Tigor iCNG is currently ruling this space. Just like the recently introduced Celerio CNG, the Dzire CNG too is expected to get two versions, one for the private car buyers and the other for the fleet segment.
The compact sedan is expected to get the same 1.2-litre K12M petrol motor that produces 82 BHP and 113 Nm torque. However, in the CNG mode the output is likely to drop to 71 BHP and 95 Nm torque.
Maruti’s S-CNG tech gets Auto Switch feature to instantly switch between CNG and Petrol modes. It also comes with dual interdependent ECUs.
Currently the carmaker offers CNG with Alto, Celerio, Wagon R, S-Presso, Eeco and S-Presso. Maruti plans to offer CNG option for all the cars in their lineup in the near future.
