A lot of popular vehicles have been put through crash tests recently and this time the Maruti Ciaz and Ertiga have managed a score of 4 stars in ASEAN NCAP.
The ASEAN NCAP tested the Suzuki Ciaz and it is likely that the car was sourced from the automaker’s plant in Thailand. The vehicle was loaded with dual front airbags and a seatbelt reminder system. The vehicle performed nicely in Adult Occupant Protection tests but very poorly in Child Occupant Protection Tests.
The Suzuki Ciaz received a 4-star rating for Adult Occupant Protection with a score of 14.56 out of 16.00. It also passed the side impact tests properly. For Child Occupant Protection, the Ciaz had only 37% compliance and hence it received a rating of only 2 stars. In India, the Ciaz is offered with dual front airbags and ABS too.
The Maruti Ertiga is another popular car and this too was tested by the ASEAN NCAP. The MPV got a 4-star rating for Adult Occupant Protection and it scored 12.39 points out of 16. For Child Occupant Protection, the vehicle had only 33% compliance and hence it was given just a 2 star rating.
The Ertiga also passed the side impact tests. So while the vehicle performed nicely for Adult Occupant Protection, it performed poorly for Child Occupant Protection. In India, the Maruti Ertiga is offered with dual front airbags and ABS as safety features.
