Maruti has launched the Celerio Limited Edition variant, gets revised styling and additional equipment.
The Maruti Celerio Limited Edition has been launched in India in the VXi and ZXi variants. The Celerio Limited Edition variants are priced at a premium of Rs. 12,000/- over the regular VXi and ZXi variants. The Celerio range starts at Rs. 4.03 lakhs for the base LXi variant and goes up to Rs. 5.23 lakhs for the ZXi AMT variant (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
Coming to the changes on the limited edition model, on the exteriors, the Celerio Limited Edition gets side body graphics, body side moulding, door visors and chrome garnishes on the headlamps, tail lights, fog lamps, door panels and tailgate. On the inside, you get a new steering wheel cover, new seat covers, ambient lighting in the foot wells and a tissue box placed in one of the cup holders. The car also gets rear parking sensors.
The Maruti Celerio Limited Edition comes with no mechanical changes under the hood, it still continues to be powered by the 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 68 HP of power and 90 Nm of torque. This engine comes matched to a 5-speed manual and an optional AMT gearbox. The Celerio is also offered in an optional CNG-equipped variant as well in particular cities where CNG is available. While the fuel-efficiency for the petrol is a claimed 20.36 km/l, the CNG variant returns 31.79 km/l.
The Maruti Celerio competes with the Tata Tiago. The automaker is going to launch a facelifted model of the Celerio by the end of this year and hence it is likely that they are trying to clear stock of the existing model with such limited edition variants.
