The Maruti Celerio X has been spotted in India for the first time during a promo shoot. MotorBeam reader Tanmay Gupta spotted the car and clicked a picture for us. The Celerio X could be launched in India sometime before Diwali, however, the automaker is yet to confirm this.
The spotted test mule wears a bright orange paint scheme and a matte black body kit which includes a black bumper with silver scuff plates and integrated reflectors. The vehicles also get black alloy wheels. Roof rails and an increased ground clearance might as well be offered on the Celerio X to complement the crossover looks.
The Maruti Celerio X is expected to be powered by the same 1.0-litre petrol engine that powers the regular Celerio. The 1.0-litre petrol makes 67 HP of power and 90 Nm of torque and comes mated to a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT transmission. The Celerio X will be available in 4 variants – VXi, ZXi, VXi AMT and ZXi AMT.
Maruti had showcased a Celerio with body cladding at the 2016 Auto Expo to measure customer interest. The Celerio facelift is also under development, and the company could launch the Celerio X along with the facelifted version of the hatchback.
