Maruti cars to get Harman Kardon audio systems from 2017 and if the deal gets finalised, the Ignis might be the first car to get this audio system.
Maruti Suzuki has upped its ante in the past couple of years when it comes to the quality of their vehicles. It has now been reported that the company is looking to incorporate Harman Kardon audio systems in their vehicles and this may happen from as early as 2017.
The automaker is currently working with the audio biggie and working on developing these audio systems. Suzuki has already signed a deal with Harman Kardon for the global version of the upcoming Ignis and it is likely that even in India, it’ll be the Ignis that will first get this audio system.
The entry-level cars from Maruti might not get these audio systems since the cost of the car would go up, but we can definitely expect it to come in bigger cars like the Swift, Baleno, Vitara Brezza, Ciaz, S-Cross, etc. Currently, Maruti offers touchscreen audio systems with good sound quality on the Ciaz, Ertiga, Baleno, Vitara Brezza and S-Cross.
Harman Kardon has also been supplying audio systems to Tata Motors and the Tiago, Bolt and Zest come with these systems. If the deal gets finalised with Maruti, Harman will ship their audio systems from their Pune-based manufacturing facility.
