Once Maruti begins to retail its Baleno through its Arena showrooms, Nexa outlets might witness a reduction in sales
Maruti could retail the Baleno premium hatchback at its Arena showrooms in addition to selling it through its Nexa outlets.
It is said that the country’s top carmaker has taken this decision to boost sales and profitability of its Arena dealers who do not have a Nexa branch.
The Baleno was the best-selling car in the country in the month of August and is priced between Rs. 5.99 lakhs and Rs. 9.45 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
It comes powered by a 1.2-litre petrol motor that also comes with hybrid assist. In non-hybrid form, the car has 82 BHP, while the hybrid-assisted variant has 88 BHP.
But the torque comes in at 113 Nm for both variants. The powertrain options include a 5-speed manual and a CVT which is reserved for the non-hybrid version alone.
Do note that Maruti is working on providing the premium hatchback an updated exterior look and interior layout and the test mule has been spotted by us already.
In addition to development about the retail of the Maruti Baleno through Arena outlets, the talk in the industry is that Maruti Authorized Service Stations may soon get permission to service Nexa cars as well.
