Maruti has boosted the production of Baleno to reduce the high waiting period.
The Maruti Baleno hatchback was launched in India in 2015 and since then it has been one of the best-selling cars for the company. The Baleno is the highest selling premium hatchback in the country maintaining the top 5 spot since the past few months. Since its launch, Maruti has sold over 4.5 lakh units of the Baleno and the waiting period for the car still continues.
To cater the high demand of the customers and to reduce the waiting period, Maruti has ramped up the production of the Baleno. Production has been increased by 34 percent in the past 8 months. It is made at the company’s Gujarat facility. After the increase in production of Baleno in this plant, it is operating in its full capacity of 2.5 lakh units annually.
With increased production of the premium hatch, the average monthly sales of Baleno has hovered around 18,000 units in the past 8 months compared to an average of around 14,000 units in the Jan’17-Aug’17 period.
The Baleno is exclusively manufactured in India. It is exported to all over the globe from this Gujarat facility. Moreover, Baleno is the first car that has been exported to Japan from India. The reason for its popularity is its value for money package. It is a big hatchback with spacious interiors and loaded features at a reasonable price point along with essential safety features on offer as standard across all variants.
