Maruti Alto K10 and S-Presso gets ESC as standard across all variants
Maruti Suzuki has announced a significant safety upgrade for two of its popular models, the Alto K10 and S-Presso. The automaker has introduced Electronic Stability Program (ESP) as a standard feature across all variants of these models.
The integration of ESP, a system designed to improve vehicle stability and control, marks a notable enhancement in the safety profile of the Alto K10 and S-Presso. The ESP system works by counteracting skidding movements, helping the vehicle maintain its intended path during challenging driving conditions.
It operates in conjunction with other critical safety systems, including the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control System (TCS) and Stability Control (SC). By utilising a series of sensors to monitor the vehicle’s motion, the system makes real-time adjustments to ensure optimal stability.
Despite this upgrade, Maruti Suzuki has maintained the existing prices of both models, making the added safety feature more accessible to customers without increasing the financial burden.
This move aligns with Maruti Suzuki’s broader strategy of enhancing vehicle safety across its lineup. In addition to ESP, the Alto K10 and S-Presso come equipped with a range of safety features, such as dual front airbags, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), reverse parking sensors, an engine immobiliser and a collapsible steering column.
This development is likely to be welcomed by safety-conscious consumers, further solidifying the brand’s position in the competitive compact car segment.
