There is a 47 percent drop in UV sales compared to March 2019.
The BS6 transition and COVID-19 crisis has spared no segment, even utility vehicle sales have crashed in March 2020. The segment has seen a considerable 47 percent fall in numbers compared to March 2019.
The top seller last month is the Maruti Eeco with 5966 units and 40 percent degrowth. The Maruti Ertiga drops down from first to second position in March with 3969 units and 56 percent negative figures.
The Toyota Innova Crysta manages to retain the third spot with 3810 unit sales and 45 percent decline. Maruti XL6 does 2221 units while Mahindra Bolero sales fall by 74 percent at 2010 units.
The Renault Triber goes further down with at 6th position with 1644 units. Kia manages an impressive 1117 units of Carnival premium MPV. The last batch of Maruti Gypsy does 201 units with 98 percent growth.
Toyota Vellfire premium MPV shows 96 units. Mahindra dispatched only 23 units of the Marazzo which means 99 percent fall in sales compared to the previous year. Datsun GO+ does a scanty 12 units with 96 percent fall. Only 6 units of Mahindra Xylo dispatched with 99 percent negative growth.
The Tata Hexa, Maruti Omni, Honda BR-V, Renault Lodgy and Mahindra Thar get no sales as these cars have been discontinued. The Hexa is expected to re-launch later this year with BS6 update and even the Lodgy with a petrol motor complying with BS6. New generation Thar will take a long while to come.
