Honda Active slips down from first to third position in March 2020.

March 2020 has been a terrible month for automobile sales, expect worse in the future amidst COVID-19 crisis. The two-wheelers sales have crashed last month and almost halved compared to February 2020.

The top selling 2-wheeler in March 2020 is the Hero Splendor with 1,43,726 units sold but still it witnesses negative YoY growth of 42 percent. The second spot is taken by HF Deluxe at 1,14,969 units with 21 percent fall in YoY sales.

The Honda Activa has slipped down to the third spot at 1,14,757 units with 23 percent fall in numbers. Honda CB Shine takes the fourth spot and is one of the few bikes with 190 percent growth at 86,633 units.

The TVS XL Super is on the fifth position with 32,808 units and 54 percent negative growth. The Honda Dio scooter has seen the highest growth with 337 percent rise in numbers at 29,538 units.

The Hero Glamour has taken the biggest hit of 78 percent fall in sales at 12,713 units. Bajaj Pulsar 150 with 24,305 unit sales has crashed by 71 percent and Hero Passion with 17,937 units has seen 69 percent decline in sales.

Only 3 out of top 25 two-wheelers have seen positive growth while the entire list has seen substantial decline in sales. With the lockdown extended till 3rd May, expect no sales in the month of April 2020.

This might be happening for the first time in the automotive history that not even a single unit will be dispatched from the plants with 0 production across the country.
