DC Design needs no introduction. The 19-year old firm churns out redesigned and modified mass market cars. Till date, the company has produced more than 600 uniquely designed cars. The latest addition to these is the DC lounge kit which can convert your normal car and give it lavish interiors. Initially, Toyota Innova had been the hot favorite for such modifications and last year, Toyota Fortuner too joined the league. The recent addition to this is Mahindra’s XUV 500.
The DC lounge kit concept is a very simple one. Choose a big car, preferably an SUV, pluck out the interiors and replenish using some of the best interiors available. So, that would mean that the car would look the same from outside but the experience inside the car would be a totally different one. The Mahindra XUV500 met with a similar redesign. DC Design removed the second row and the foldable last row seats. These were replaced by two 24-inch captain seats. These seats are fully electric and can recline up to 150 degrees.
Apart from these changes, the car’s roof features an aircraft style center module which provides diffused ambient lightening. The rear seat passengers also get an individual set of reading lights. The seats are covered in brown leather which compliments the rest of the interiors of the car. Controls have been added for seat adjustment as well as interior lights in the armrests itself. Well, such a treatment can most be enjoyed while going on a long drive as the rear seats are just perfect for that little nap.
