India’s largest utility vehicle maker, Mahindra has today replaced the E-Series variants of the Xylo with the new H-Series featuring the famous mHawk diesel engine. The mHawk engine was previously available only with the E9 variant. The Mahindra Xylo now comes with three H-Series variants starting with the H4 that has ABS as an option, H8 with ABS and airbags optional and the range topping H9 variant which comes equipped with Voice Command Technology, Cruise Control, Digital Drive Assist System, Dual Airbags, Extra Stability Technology Suspension, Reverse Parking Assist and similar other full-spec features.
Mahindra has launched the H-Series without increasing the prices compared to the outgoing E-Series. Mahindra Xylo with the new 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine produces a peak power of 120 PS and 280 of Nm maximum torque, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. According to the manufacturer, the 5-speed manual transmission has now been improved for better gear shifting. Mahindra claims an improved fuel efficiency of 14.02 km/l with the new H-Series. Mahindra also offers D2 and D4 entry level variants with the Xylo, which feature the mDI CRDe 2.5-litre diesel engine that churns out 95 BHP of power with 220 Nm of torque. The outgoing E-Series variants featured the mEagle 2.5-litre diesel engine, which is good for 112 BHP of power with 260 Nm of torque. The Mahindra Xylo now also comes with a new Dolphin Grey color, available only with the H8 and H9 trim levels. The Mahindra Xylo H-Series comes with a starting price of Rs. 8.23 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
