The Mahindra XUV700 has been spied yet again as it continues on-road tests
Mahindra is not done testing the upcoming XUV700 as it has once again been spied out on public roads.
MotorBeamer Yash Sangale from Nashik spotted the car and thanks to him, we have a clear idea as to how the upcoming SUV’s tail section will look like with the lights turned on.
But first, it must be said that the rear profile of the SUV seems to have taken inspiration from the products of a certain carmaker which is set to launch a couple of products this month.
Images of the Mahindra XUV700 spied recently show that the car will have a wide stance and pronounced hips, thanks to the bulges it has next to the aft doors.
While the development mule of the SUV is equipped with LED tail lamps, there is a possibility that they could be connected by a thin light strip, for Mahindra has taken extra care to cover the portion between the stop lights.
The car has also got a roof mounted spoiler, large tail gate with crisp and pronounced creases, fairly large rear windscreen and the smallish rear bumper.
Set to be unveiled in the September-October period this year, mass production of the 3-row SUV will begin by the end of August.
By then, the semiconductor shortage should have been solved, for the SUV is set to come with tonnes of new age features including a Mercedes-esque touchscreen and instrument cluster.
Also, the 6/7-seat vehicle will feature advanced driver assistance systems, while a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a diesel engine rumoured to also displace 2000cc, will power it.
Both manual and automatic transmission options and 4-wheel drive will be on offer right from the get-go as well, and the SUV will have to duke it out with the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and the upcoming Hyundai Alcazar.
