The Mahindra XUV700 Javelin Edition comes with special touches inside and out
It is no secret that Mahindra will be gifting a special Javelin Edition XUV700 to Tokyo Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra and the car has been spied undisguised.
For those who may not know (is there any Indian as such?), Neeraj Chopra’s javelin throw gave India its first-ever athletics medal and a gold that too.
Chairman of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra, who was tweeting about the feat was asked by a user of the microblogging side to gift the XUV700 to the 23-year-old Olympic champion.
Mahindra responded to him saying –
Now, as the automaker has begun producing the XUV700, the Javelin Edition is also taking shape and it has some cool touches to make it stand out.
On the outside, Mahindra’s new ‘Twin Peaks’ logo and metallic detailing on the grille have been painted in gold colour. Although the side and rear profiles of the car cannot be seen, expect to see some gold flashes there too.
On the inside, the Mahindra XUV700 Javelin Edition has gold stitching on the dashboard (and possibly in other parts of the interior), and the number ‘87.58’ embroidered next to the left side air vent along with a motif.
The number on the dash specifies the 87.58-metre throw which fetched Chopra his gold medal at the recently concluded Olympics held in Japan.
Expect the car to be based on the top-spec AX7 Luxury grade fitted with all the bells and whistles one might possibly ever need.
For now, it is not known if Chopra will be given an XUV700 with a petrol or diesel heart. But, he should enjoy the car regardless of the engine option.
