The latest teaser about Mahindra XUV700 features reveals the SUV’s driver drowsiness detection system
Mahindra has released yet another teaser video about one of the new age features that the XUV700 will come equipped with.
This time the Indian automaker has teased the SUV’s Driver Drowsiness Detection system which is a useful safety feature.
Mahindra has not gone into detail about it and simply states the XUV700 ‘notices’ when the driver starts to nod off and ‘nudges’ him or her awake.
Basically, the XUV700 would monitor the driver’s face for fatigue and drowsiness and if the system feels he or she might fall asleep behind the wheel (happens way more often than one might believe) it will alert the person.
The alert might be in the form of a vibrating steering wheel and safety chimes, among other things. It is not known if the car’s brain will bring the vehicle to a halt if the driver fails to respond and regain control.
This recent Mahindra XUV700 features teaser follows similar ones which revealed the SUV’s ‘Auto Booster’ headlamps, personalised safety alerts, panoramic sunroof and smart door handles.
Set to be unveiled soon, the XUV700 will come with 2 engine choices – a 200 HP 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 185 HP 2.2-litre turbo diesel. Both engines will be offered with manual and automatic gearbox options.
When launched, the car will primarily rival the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and the Hyundai Alcazar.
