The Mahindra XUV700 AX7 Smart will cost about Rs. 80,000/- less than the AX7 Luxury variant
Mahindra is set to introduce a new variant to the XUV700 range. Called the AX7 Smart, the trim will come with fewer features than the top-spec AX7 Luxury grade.
Some of the features the XUV700 AX7 Smart will not come with include smart door handles with passive keyless entry, wireless charging, telescopic steering, electronic parking brake, driver drowsiness detection, ESP, hill hold assist, hill descent control, knee airbag, drive modes and ADAS.
Nonetheless, the new variant will still be well-equipped. It will come with auto booster LED headlamps, LED taillights and sequential blinkers, auto wipers, panoramic sunroof, and 18-inch dual tone alloy wheels.
Inside, there will be leatherette seats, dual 10.25-inch displays, AdrenoX connected car tech, Alexa voice assistant, 360-degree camera, 12-speaker Sony 3D sound system, 2-zone climate control, 6-way powered driver seat, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and more.
Similarly, despite missing out on the ADAS tech, the Mahindra XUV700 AX7 Smart variant will still come with cruise control and enough safety tech including 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, blind view monitoring, and ISOFIX seat mounts.
To be available with both petrol and diesel powertrains, this new variant is set to be launched by Mahindra to try and reduce the high waiting period associated with the top variants of the SUV.
The paucity of chipsets coupled with the need for more semiconductors to run the several new age features in the AX7 Luxury grade and the high demand for the XUV700’s top variant have all resulted in the waiting period of the trim extending up to 10 months in many places.
This is why Mahindra is reportedly offering customers who had booked the top-of-the-line model the chance to switch to the AX7 Smart variant, which the brand will be able to deliver 2 to 3 months earlier than the AX7 Luxury grade.
What’s more, the fact that the new variant is set to be around Rs. 80,000/- less expensive than the AX7 Luxury would help matters too.
