Mahindra XUV700 AX5 Select variant launched, positioned between AX3 & AX5
Mahindra XUV700 AX5 Select (AX5 S) variant launched, priced from Rs. 16.89 lakhs (ex-showroom). You can have a look at the updated price list of the XUV700 below. The new variant comes with both petrol and diesel engine options including both MT and AT transmission options. It is only available in a 7-seater layout.
With the launch of the new AX5 S variant, Mahindra wants to make more features available to a wider audience at a desirable price point. It is positioned between the AX3 variant and the AX5 variant.
Some of the features include panoramic sunroof, Dual 10.24-inch HD screens, Push-Button Start/Stop, Adrenox with 75+ Connected Features, Amazon Alexa Built-in, Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 6 Speakers with Sound Staging, etc.
The AX5 Select misses out on features like 17-inch diamond cut alloys, LED headlights, ESC, Drive Modes, curtain airbags, LED sequential turn indicators, cornering lamp, reverse camera, cruise control and fog lamps. These features are available in the AX5 trim.
There are no mechanical changes on offer. It continues with the 2.0-litre turbo petrol mStallion engine that produces 200 HP and 380 Nm of torque. The 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine produces 185 HP and 420 Nm of torque. The diesel AT combo makes 450 Nm of torque.
Mahindra has been updating the XUV700 quite frequently. They recently launched 7-seater MX variant for the entry-level segment and the Blaze limited edition on the AX7L trim and now this, the AX5 S.
Later this year or early next year we can expect Mahindra to launch the facelifted version of the XUV700, which is likely to be called the XUV 7XO, following the new nomenclature starting with the XUV 3XO. The updated model will get drastic styling changes and interior updates along with a longer list of features on offer.
