Mahindra XUV300 Facelift Front Spotted

Mahindra XUV300 AT to get new 6-speed torque converter unit from Aisin

Mahindra is about to launch the heavily updated XUV300 facelift with new visual tweaks and more features along with a new AT gearbox.

We have seen multiple prototypes of the updated model recently with drastic changes on the exterior including completely new front profile that will get new grille, new headlights and revised bumper. The compact SUV will also get a new tailgate with connected lights and new bumper. Mahindra will be offering new alloy wheel design to make it look fresh.

The interior is expected to come with a new dashboard design with a larger floating infotainment system. There is a new first in segment panoramic sunroof that will be offered with the compact SUV.

All these details were known but now there is a new development which claims that Mahindra will introduce Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic torque converter unit with the new XUV300, which is expected to replace the 6-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). The new gearbox will offer much better performance compared to the laggy AMT unit.

Engine options are expected to be the same which include a 110 HP 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, 131 HP 1.2-litre direct injection turbo-petrol and a 117 HP 1.5-litre diesel engine. It is yet to be known if the new 6-speed AT will be offered across all the engines or any one specific engine.

The Aisin 6-speed torque converter is supplied to Maruti Suzuki for their 6-speed AT cars along with Skoda and Volkswagen MQBA0IN cars.

The new Mahindra XUV300 is currently in its final stages of testing. The Indian carmaker is expected to launch the updated vehicle by early 2024. It will compete directly with the new Tata Nexon along with Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, etc.
