Mahindra has revised the price list of India’s safest car, the XUV300, that as resulted in reduction of ex-showroom costs of most, if not all, variants.
The highest price reduction was to the W8 Option petrol variant which saw Rs. 87,129/- slashed and the next model to receive a massive price reduction was the W8 petrol that saw Rs. 70,000/- reduced from its retail price.
Next in the line is the W8 Option diesel that saw costs reduced by Rs. 39,000/-, followed by the W4 petrol at Rs. 35,000/-. The W8 diesel’s price was cut by Rs. 20,000/- and finally, the price of W6 petrol was down by Rs. 17,000/-.
However, prices of W4 and W6 diesel models were increased to the tune of Rs. 1000/- and Rs. 20,000/-, respectively. No changes have been made to the features list along with the Mahindra XUV300 price reduction, which is good news for prospective customers.
But, Mahindra has withdrawn all consumer offers and discounts on accessories with the announcement of the price reduction. Now, customers can only avail of Rs. 25,000/- exchange bonus and Rs. 4500/- corporate discount.
Has Mahindra rolled the dice to gain market share ahead of the Sonet’s launch? It might be so, since the segment which is extremely competitive and crowded is going to get two more additions in the near future.
