Mahindra has launched the Verito in India. The Verito is nothing but a re-badged Logan. There are no mechanical changes in the car and it continues to be powered by the same 1.4 petrol and 1.5 DCi diesel engines. However the Mahindra Verito features a few new features like fog lamps, roof rails, body cladding, boot lid spoiler and ski-rack. The Verito also features a host of safety features including head restraints (for all seats), side impact beams, ABS, EBD, driver side airbag and DIS (driver information system). There are no Renault logos on the car and the company has replaced the Renault badge with that of their own. The Verito petrol is priced at Rs. 4.82 lakhs, whereas the diesel is priced at Rs. 5.62 lakhs (all prices for BS3 variants, ex-showroom). The Verito is also available for BS4 markets, at a premium of Rs. 15,000/- over the outgoing Logan.
“The Verito, with its unique value proposition aligns with the Mahindra DNA of offering tough, rugged and sporty vehicles. For the first time, we are using social media platforms to unveil a new product, reflecting alternative thinking. The earlier Logan will continue to get complete service and spares support from us,” Mr. Rajesh Jejurikar, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra said.
