Mahindra has showcased four new technology innovations recently and has also received international patents for the same. The following four innovations are the ones which got the patents – fuel gauge system, automatic ignition cut-off, DTE meter and the engine immobilizer. The current gen Mahindra two-wheelers are already having these features incorporated in them. Mahindra’s facility in Pune continues to focus on new innovations for their two-wheelers.
This year, the company launched the new Centuro which commits to lead Mahindra’s way in the motorcycle segment. The bike was completely designed at the Mahindra R&D centre in Pune. The above mentioned patented technologies have already been incorporated in the Centuro. The motorbike also comes with an MCi-5 engine which produces a power of 8.5 BHP and 8.5 Nm of torque. ARAI has certified that the Centuro gives an amazing fuel efficiency of 85.4 km/l. The other notable features in the Centuro are a car-like remote flip key which is encrypted with a micro-chip, find me lamps and guide lamps, digital instrument cluster and a maintenance free battery along with a 5-year warranty for complete piece of mind.
Mahindra two-wheelers added that they are committed to offer the best and latest technology to their customers and the integration of these features is what differentiates Mahindra from the rest. It is great to see Mahindra including these features in their entry-level motorbikes and we hope others follow the suit. The Mahindra Centuro costs Rs. 47,374/- (ex-showroom, Maharashtra without octroi) and its chief competitors are the Honda Dream Neo and the Splendour and Passions series from Hero MotoCorp.
