With Maruti pleasantly surprising us with the Vitara Brezza pricing, we take a quick look at how it stacks up against its arch rivals in the compact SUV space.
The compact SUV space is very important in the Indian market for we, Indians love anything that has the SUV tag. The statement comes from the runaway success of cars like the Renault Duster, Ford EcoSport and more recently, the Mahindra TUV300. Now, India’s largest automaker Maruti Suzuki has entered the segment with the intention to grab a substantial chunk of the market.
Earlier, we did a specification comparison of the Maruti Vitara Brezza with its arch rivals and now we have done a comparison of the prices of the same. Surprisingly, Maruti has managed to keep the prices of its much awaited SUV very competitive and the base variants are priced more in line with the Mahindra TUV300.
Even after being the newest vehicle on the lot, the starting price is the lowest for the Vitara Brezza. The TUV300 and Brezza get an option of safety pack on the base variant. When we look at mid variants, all the three cars have optional variants which get safety features. The top end variants are where things get interesting.
While the Maruti Vitara Brezza gets two top-end variants with features being the differentiating factor, the Ford EcoSport differentiates between the two variants on the basis of safety features and certain other features. The trump card that the Mahindra TUV300 holds is the option of an AMT in two variants which the other cars here lack.
