Mahindra has successfully transited the Logan from a Renault brand to a Mahindra one. Now the company renamed the Logan to Verito and now plans to launch more variants of the car. The Verito has been an instant success for Mahindra, who have managed to increase sales post the name change. The new variants will also include a sub 4-meter variant, which will help the Verito save on excise duty by being classified as a small car. A sub 4-meter Verito will compete with the likes of the Tata Indigo e-CS and will help Mahindra get the volumes. The other variants will feature a slight change in design to make the Verito look fresh amongst intensifying competition.
Mahindra also plans to launch an SUV by the end of this year. The world SUV (W201) which was spotted in all its glory a few days back, looks stunning. It will be priced in the Rs. 15 lakh range and will compete with the Honda CR-V, Chevrolet Captiva and Tata Aria. We can expect Mahindra to offer 4-wheel drive variant later on, as the W201 will be initially offered in front-wheel drive version. Mahindra seems to be on the right track with its products and with SsangYong vehicles planned for India, the company is well set to become a competitive force in the country.
