Mahindra to hike SUV and commercial vehicle prices by up to 3% from April
Mahindra has announced a price hike of up to 3% across its range of sport utility vehicles and commercial vehicles, effective from April 2025. The price revision will impact popular models such as the Thar, Scorpio and XUV700.
The company cited increasing input and commodity costs as the key factors behind the decision. The extent of the price increase will vary depending on the specific model and variant.
This move aligns with a broader trend in the automotive industry, as several manufacturers have begun adjusting prices to offset rising production expenses.
Earlier this week, Hyundai also confirmed a price hike of up to 3% across its entire portfolio, effective from next month. Similarly, Maruti Suzuki announced a 4% increase starting April 1, marking its third price revision this year after previous adjustments in January and February.
Tata Motors has joined the list as well, with plans to raise prices of its commercial vehicles by 2% from April, also citing higher input and raw material costs.
In the premium segment, Mercedes-Benz India is reportedly considering another round of price adjustments in April. The decision will depend on currency fluctuations, particularly the rupee’s performance against the euro. The luxury automaker had already raised prices earlier this year and expects a muted sales outlook in the coming quarters.
As automakers grapple with inflationary pressures, consumers may continue to see price revisions across various segments in the months ahead.
