Modified Mahindra Thar called Thar Wanderlust showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, gets gullwing-style doors!
Mahindra has showcased the Thar Wanderlust at the 2018 Auto Expo and this customised Thar actually looks a level above the Thar DayBreak edition. The SUV gets an electric matte blue paint finish and rugged looking exteriors. There is no tailgate but the Thar Wanderlust edition gets gullwing-style rear doors for access to the rear seats, cool!
There is a winch housed on the new front bumper and above it is the headlight setup with LED DRLs. The signature 7-slat grille can be seen too. The vehicle gets a hard top and massive 33-inch tyres wrapped in steel wheels. Other attractions on the custom off-roader are wing mirrors, marker lights at the rear, twin exhausts protruding out of the rear and a fuel can.
The cabin is similar to the regular Thar but has a slew of changes. Starting with, the dashboard is dual-tone and the steering wheel is finished in beige unlike the standard Thar which gets a black unit. The Wanderlust edition also features a touchscreen infotainment system, Sparco front seats and a sunroof.
Mechanically, the Thar Wanderlust remains unchanged. It still features the 2.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces 105 HP of power and 247 Nm of torque. The oil-burner comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox with 4WD. The automaker is yet to reveal the prices for this custom job on the Thar.
