Mahindra Thar Roxx front profile revealed in black and white colour options

Mahindra is gradually revealing the Thar Roxx ahead of its launch on 15th August. After revealing the face of the 5-door Thar a couple of days back, the SUV maker has now revealed the front profile of the Roxx, that too in two colour options – black and white. Let’s have a look at the 5 things you need to know about the Mahindra Thar Roxx.

Powerful Engines

The Mahindra Thar Roxx will be powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine, delivering 150 HP and 350 Nm of torque for the entry-level model and 172 HP and 370 Nm for higher variants. There will be a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine as well, offering power outputs of 160 HP and 330 Nm for the base model and 175 HP and 380 Nm for higher variants.  Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

Mahindra Thar Roxx 4XPLOR

The Mahindra Thar Roxx will be equipped with Mahindra’s 4XPLOR off-road setup, which includes an electronic brake locking differential (E-BLD) and an electronic locking differential (ELD). It will be offering multiple terrain modes, such as Snow, Sand and Mud, to cater to various off-road conditions. Mahindra will be offering a traditional lever-operated 4WD system with 2H, 4H and 4L modes, similar to the Thar 3-door. It has an approach angle of 41.3 degrees, a departure angle of 36.1 degrees and a ramp-over angle of 23.6 degrees. It also offers a water-wading depth of 650 mm.

Features

The interior will come with a dual tone dashboard, larger infotainment touchscreen unit with the latest UI, all-digital instrument cluster, XUV700 borrowed steering wheel, front arm rest, etc. Some of the features will include panoramic sunroof, 360 degree camera, ventilated seats, wireless phone charger, Harman Kardon audio system, auto climate control, electrically powered driver’s seat and more. To boost the safety aspect of Thar Roxx, Mahindra will also be offering ADAS Level 2 with the off-roader.

Cosmetic Upgrades

The Mahindra Thar Roxx will be available with body-coloured grille as we can see here with the white version. Notice the diamond cut alloy wheels on the side profile, looks quite fancy and upmarket. Another thing to notice is the black contrast roof that extends down with a kink from the C-pillar.

Premium Quotient

Mahindra will leave no stone unturned with the Thar Roxx. They are offering a premium styling with multiple cosmetic enhancements. The interior will offer better practicality with more space on offer along with a long list of new features adding to the convenience with the off-road nature of the Thar. There will be multiple engine options to choose from along with a more potent off-road equipment.

Mahindra Thar Roxx will be an off-roader that doesn’t compromise on comfort, tech, power and features. You will get all of this at an expected price range of Rs. 25-30 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the range topping models!
