Mahindra Thar Roxx front profile reveals new details & changes compared to 3-door
Mahindra has completely revealed the front profile of the Thar Roxx ahead of its debut on 15th August. The first glimpse of the off-road SUV exhibits new elements showcasing the changes compared to the regular 3-door Thar.
There are small yet big changes on the face of the Thar Roxx. It gets a new set of LED projector headlamps that integrate the LED DRLs in circular pattern, which looks quite upmarket and takes inspiration from some of the premium luxury SUVs including the Mercedes G Wagon.
Next up is the new grille design painted in all-black theme, which gets a 6-slat design element but divided in two halves. This makes it look sharper and very different from the smaller Thar. Notice the camera module in the middle of the grille and on the ORVMs as well, that’s for the 360° camera system.
Other details include turn signal indicators on the front fenders, updated front bumper design with LED fog lamps and redesigned cladding for a sharper look. The side profile is yet to be revealed but has been leaked in spy shots. It will get fancy dual tone alloy wheels and of course additional doors for the rear passengers with door handle mounted on the C-pillar.
Mahindra will be offering new LED tail lamps as well at the rear with updated bumper design. It will get a panoramic sunroof with the range topping variants and single pane sunroof for the middle variants.
The interior will also get some changes including XUV700 borrowed steering wheel for a premium look. Slightly revised dashboard with dual tone colour tones and larger floating touchscreen infotainment system along with the new digital instrument cluster.
It will be powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine, delivering 150 HP and 350 Nm of torque for the entry-level model and 172 HP and 370 Nm for higher variants. There will be a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine as well, offering power outputs of 160 HP and 330 Nm for the base model and 175 HP and 380 Nm for higher variants. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx with its bigger dimensions, premium styling, more features, better practicality and off-road tech loaded package is expected to come with a price range of Rs. 25-30 lakhs (ex-showroom).
