Mahindra Thar 5-Door interior details revealed from the factory
Mahindra’s next big launch will be the new Thar long wheelbase with 5 doors. Everyone is eagerly waiting to see the bigger Thar in flesh. Multiple test mules across the country have been spotted over the last few months. This time around we get to see the new dashboard of the SUV.
At the first glimpse it is apparent that this is a Thar’s dashboard. It gets the same circular vents, grab handle on the passenger side, familiar centre console and the metal plate on the passenger side. However, there are some new bits to notice here that will differentiate the 5-door Thar with the 3-door model.
First up is the new dual-tone brown and black dashboard theme which we believe will continue across the cabin with similar upholstery and door trim colour tones. Next up is the larger cutout for the infotainment system. We can expect a bigger 10-inch screen with the latest UI on the bigger Thar.
The instrument cluster housing looks different as well, which means there will be a new digital or analogue instrument cluster offering more details. Previous spy shots revealed new front arm rest, sunroof and grab handles on the A and B-pillar.
The exterior too will get some changes including new grille design, LED headlights, revised bumper design, new alloy wheels and LED tail lights with sequential turn indicators.
Engine options will remain unchanged, it will be offered with 2.0-litre turbo petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine options. 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options will be there as well. Mahindra is also expected to give a choice between 4×2 and 4×4 versions.
Mahindra has also trademarked a few names for the bigger Thar including Thar Armada, Cult, Rex, Savannah, Roxx, Gladius and Centurion. Which one of these would make it to the production version? Let us know in the comments section.
