Mahindra convertible SUV concept showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, is based on the TUV300 platform.
Mahindra has showcased a convertible SUV concept named the Stinger at the ongoing Auto Expo. The automaker is known to wow viewers at the Auto Expo, last time, they showed us the XUV Aero concept (a coupe SUV based on the XUV500). Based on the TUV300’s ladder frame chassis, the Stinger concept measures less than 4-metres in length. The Stinger nameplate was earlier associated with a modified Bolero but this time it isn’t just an SUV, it’s a convertible SUV!
The concept has a flamboyant design going for it. Flared wheel arches, large wheels, imposing grille, LED headlights and the lack of a roof are the design highlights. The rear seems to be inspired by a sports car. Interiors are also as futuristic as the exteriors. There are three displays, one for the instrument cluster, one for the infotainment and one for other functions like climate control. The 4-seater SUV concept, for now, will just be a showcase with no immediate plans to head to production.
However, if it does, expect Mahindra to offer the same 1.5-litre mHawk diesel engine as seen in the TUV300.
