Mahindra Scorpio N pickup and Thar EV concepts design patents leak
Mahindra showcased the Scorpio N based pickup concept along with Thar EV concept at a global event in Cape Town, South Africa a few months back. The Indian UV maker revealed the new design direction of the brand with these futuristic concepts.
While the Mahindra Thar EV is far away from production at this stage, the Scorpio N based pickup truck is currently under development and is scheduled to make its global debut in production avatar by 2025.
It is based on a new generation ladder frame platform, which Mahindra claims, is more tough and versatile. It is designed at Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS). The resemblance of the Scorpio N SUV is evident on the front profile. The overall styling is more rugged to differentiate it from the regular SUV.
Mahindra will be introducing new features with the pickup truck including Level-2 ADAS, Trailer Sway Mitigation, All-Around Airbag Protection, Drowsy Driver Detection, 5G Connectivity and more.
The Indian carmaker has not revealed any details yet on the engine options but we believe it will be powered by the same set of diesel and petrol engine options. Of course it will be equipped with 4Xplore four-wheel-drive system.
The Mahindra Thar EV concept, which is officially called Vision Thar.e, will be based on the INGLO P1 platform. This new dedicated EV platform will underpin five more all-electric SUVs. The concept has a quirky modular design but we believe the final production version will look very different.
