The leaked owner’s manual of Mahindra Scorpio N reveals the SUV’s dimensions among other details
Ahead of its launch on 27th June, the dimensions and other details of the upcoming Mahindra Scorpio N have been revealed through the SUV’s leaked owner’s manual. The car gets many advanced electronics which were never-head-of in the Scorpio’s 20-year history.
Starting with the dimensions, the Scorpio N, which Mahindra claims as the Big Daddy of SUVs with segment highest command seating, measures 1870 mm in height, 4662 mm in length, and 1917 mm in width. The wheelbase measures 2750 mm.
All these values are marginally higher than that of the prime rival, Tata Safari. But, as far as the existing Scorpio goes, it’s marginally taller. So, it’s the existing Scorpio, the upcoming Scorpio Classic, which is the big daddy at least in height.
As per the owner’s manual, the Scorpio N gets both front and rear parking assistance with dedicated front and rear parking camera and sensors. Another great update is the addition of voice commands. One can now open or close the SUV’s sunroof using voice commands.
The car, for the first time, gets tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) which will honk the car when the required pressure is reached.
The system is so advanced that it even detects the position of the tires. If the tires are interchanged, the values gets automatically updated appropriately.
The Scorpio N can automatically close the sunroof and widows for the passengers in case the rain-sensing wipers run for more than 10 seconds. The SUV’s cruise control can be activated from as low as 20 km/hr which means the car can be used in a convoy too.
In case of a crash with airbags deflated, the Scorpio N can automatically call 108 for the passengers. Mahindra With You Hamesha team will also call for further support.
The SUV gets dedicated SOS and RSA buttons for calling 108 and the Road Side Assistance respectively.
There are 7 colours on offer – White, Silver, Napoli Black, Rage Red, New Blue, Brushed Green, and Brushed Gold.
Mahindra says the all-new Scorpio-N will redefine the D-segment and has been engineered grounds-up to meet the aspirations of the young and tech-savvy customers looking for a full-size authentic SUV.
According to the UV maker, the Scorpio is tough, sophisticated, and a head turner with an imposing design and commanding driving position. It will be manufactured at Mahindra’s state-of-the-art facility in Chakan.
In 1 of its leaked teasers, the Mahindra had also put up a statement saying, “The new Mahindra SUV makes even the crash dummy feel safe,” which means the company is eyeing 5 stars for the SUV from Global NCAP crash test.
It’s expected to command an aggressive price tag and Mahindra is aiming to capture the D-segment currently dominated by the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
